Segue for Mac

Your chart, your set,
your cue.

Lyrics, chords and setlists for musicians who play live.

Coming soon to the Mac App Store.

Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Requires a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later.

Built for a MacBook on a music stand.

How it works

From chord sheet to stage.

  1. Library

    Bring your songs in.

Drag in ChordPro or text files, or start a new song. Each one stays a plain file in a folder you choose.

  2. Editor

    Make each chart yours.

Type ChordPro or place chords on the syllable. Transpose, add a capo, or switch to Nashville.

  3. Setlists

    Build the set.

Drag songs into order and watch the running time add up. Change a key or capo for one show only.

  4. Stage

    Play the show.

Segue goes dark and full screen. Every song fits at a size you can read from a stool.

Stage mode

Built for the stage.

One job: the right words at the right moment, and nothing in your way.

  • Never too small.

Set a minimum lyric size. If a song won't fit, Segue scrolls instead of shrinking it.

  • Know what's next.

The footer shows the next song with its key and capo, or the request you queued.

  • Take requests.

Press Cmd-K, type a title or a line you remember, and play it now, next or later.

  • One pedal, whole set.

Page Down scrolls, then moves on to the next song. A page-turner pedal just works.

  • Back where you were.

If your Mac restarts mid-show, Segue offers to pick up right where you left off.

  • A quiet Mac.

Run your own Shortcut as the show starts, for example to turn on a Focus.

The details, done properly.

  • Your songs, as files.

One ChordPro file per song, in a folder you choose. No account, no lock-in.

  • Search the way you spell.

Find any half-remembered line, romanized Hindi included.

  • Guitar and piano.

Chord diagrams for both, with your own guitar shapes saved in the song.

  • Learning, Ready, Pro.

Proficiency marks and tags show what's ready for the gig.

  • Nothing to save.

Edits save as you go. Deleted songs go to the Trash.

  • At home in Finder.

Open .cho files from Finder, preview them in Quick Look, and export your whole library.

  • Rehearse first.

Run the set at home to time each song, without a gig log entry.

  • Keyboard first.

Stage mode runs from the keyboard. Press ? to see every key.

Privacy

Your songs stay yours.

  • No account.

No sign-in. Your songs, setlists and gig history are files on your Mac.

  • Never uploaded.

Segue never uploads your songs. A bug report goes out only when you press Send.

  • Your choice.

Usage statistics and crash reports are two separate questions, with nothing picked for you.

I built Segue for my own gigs: a MacBook on a stand, and a set list that changes the moment someone shouts a request. If it helps you play, I'd love to hear about it.
