Make each chart yours

Edit a song

Place chords right on the syllable in Visual mode, or edit the ChordPro text. Every change saves as you type.

The editor has two modes. Visual shows the lyrics with chords above them. Text edits the ChordPro source directly; see Text mode, the slash menu and ChordPro.

The editor in Visual mode with chord pills over the lyrics

In Visual mode, click above a syllable to add a chord. Drag a chord pill to move it to another syllable, or select it and use the arrow keys to nudge it one syllable at a time.

There is nothing to save: every change is written as you type, and the editor shows “Saved”. ⌘S just confirms “All changes saved”. Done closes the editor. Edit > Undo works across your changes.

If the file changes in another app while you edit, Segue asks whether to reload it, overwrite it with your edits, or save your edits as a new song.

Spell-check, autocorrect, smart quotes and text replacement are off in the editor. Lyrics are often in other languages or in romanized Hindi with casual spellings, and a chart has to stay exactly as you typed it.
