The song card

Title, artist, key, tempo, length and more on one card. Segue writes the ChordPro for you; the file stays standard.

The song card sits above the song in the library and in the editor. Click any field to change it. Segue writes it into the song’s ChordPro file, or into the small details file beside it for tags and proficiency.

The song card with title, artist, key, tempo, length, proficiency and tags

Key, length and tempo are the set essentials: Segue uses them to time a set and plan its flow. A small dot marks each one that is missing, on the card and on the song’s row in the library. The Missing essentials filter in the sidebar lists every song that needs one.

Pick the key and Major or Minor. If the song has no key yet, Segue suggests one from its chords. With a capo, the key is the key of the shapes you play.

Type the beats per minute, or tap along with the song: each tap updates the tempo.

Type a length like 4:05. Or click Time it, play the song, and click Stop: the time becomes the length. Esc cancels. Segue never guesses a length; a song without one shows as unknown in set totals.

Capo, time signature, proficiency and tags

Section titled “Capo, time signature, proficiency and tags”

Add capo or time signature shows those two fields. Proficiency is Learning, Ready or Pro, told apart by fill as well as colour. Tags are free words like “opener” or “ballad”; see Tags and smart filters.
